Is an alteration tailor different from a bespoke tailor?
Yes. Bespoke builds a garment from scratch; an alteration tailor reshapes what you already own. We specialise in alterations, restyling and repairs.
Can a tailor fix a suit that is too big?
Usually. Sides, sleeves, waist and length all have room to move. Shoulders are the hardest and most expensive area, so try to buy for the shoulders and alter the rest.
How much should alterations cost in Dubai?
It varies by garment and complexity. We quote before starting, so you can decide with the number in front of you.
Do you handle designer and delicate fabrics?
Yes — silk, leather, beaded and structured pieces are routine work for our senior tailors.

Walk-ins are always welcome at all Dr. Alter locations. You do not need a prior appointment. Simply visit your nearest location, bring your garment and our tailor will assess the work and provide a quote on the spot.
How much do clothing alterations cost at Dr. Alter?
Alteration prices vary depending on the garment type and the work required. As a general guide, trouser hemming starts from AED 35, dress alterations from AED 60 and suit adjustments from AED 80. Your tailor will give you an exact quote after assessing your garment before any work begins.
